DetailsThe foundation stone for the second Blacktown Railway Station building was laid on 1 March 1884 by Mrs Matilda McCoy, wife of Thomas McCoy the Station Master. Other significant guests in attendance were Lord Augustus Loftus (Governor of the Colony), Honourable (Sir) Alexander Stuart (Premier) and the Right Reverend Dr. Alfred Barry (Bishop of Sydney and Metropolitan). Railway officials and tradesmen also had their presence recorded. A time capsule was sealed under the foundation stone.
