DetailsThis is a copy obtained in 2001 of the Will of Maria Lock, dated 11 March 1878, with Robert Lock named as executor, possibly Maria's eldest son.
In this document, Maria's 40 acres of land near Liverpool was to be subdivided equally between her nine surviving children: Robert Lock, John Lock, William Lock, Mary Ward (nee Lock), Charles Lock, Eliza Parsons (nee Lock), Clara Smith (nee Lock), James Lock and Martha Stubbings (nee Lock).
The document was sighted by the Registrar, possibly of the Lands Department of NSW or relevant authority on 10 July 1884.

Maria Lock was the sister of Colebee, the first Aboriginal land grantee at Richmond Road. She also married Robert Lock (1800-1854) in the first officially sanctioned marriage between a convict and an Aboriginal woman.
