DetailsBlacktown City Council has resolved to reverse its previous decision and proceed with the next steps towards an application to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) for a Special Rate Variation following an Extraordinary Meeting. Council will now prepare the material required for an application to IPART in early 2026.

Blacktown City Council applied to IPART for a permanent Special Rate Variation in the 2026/27, 2027/28 and 2028/29 years to provide additional rates income to meet the needs of growing city.
