Blacktown Public School opened in 1877 on Flushcombe Road, Blacktown and closed on 14th December 1990. Blacktown City Council reopened the renovated heritage building as a Visitor Information and Heritage Centre in 2007. In 2023 a jewellery store opened as a tenant within the heritage building.
