DetailsThese document copies which were obtained and certified in 1976 show the marriage certificate between Hermann Finckh and Sophia Moesch at St James Church, Sydney on 14 July 1863, and the Birth Registration of their son, Ernest Victor Finckh, on 26 March 1868. In the left margin of the birth registration is an annotation with the name of the child and the date of baptism, which was added on 15 July 1919.
Ernest Finckh bought land in Eastern Creek in 1907, including 25 acres of William Dean's original land grant. Finckh's Eastern Creek Farms were bounded by The Rooty Hill (Church Street) and Hill Farms Estate to the north; The Great Western Road (later the Great Western Highway) and Learmonth property to the south; Rooty Hill Road to the west; and Eastern Creek to the east.
