The School of Arts was built by the residents for community activities and was completed in 1903. The building was used for the first meeting of Blacktown Shire Council in 1906.
The School of Arts is listed as a heritage item of local significance, according to the Blacktown Local Environment Plan (BLEP) of 1988 and 2015.
